Respect the Beach: Everything You Need to Know

86

Every year, our beaches are enjoyed by over 5 million visitors. It is important to remember that it's each individuals responsibility to maintain the quality of the beautiful beach so many have grown to know and love. We must ALL do our part.

As of last Summer, new laws were put in place for the preservation of our wonderful paradise that require the removal of all beach equipment at the end of every day. Failure to do so will result in the loss of anything left on the beach an hour after sunset.

Leave Only Footprints is an organization raising awareness and participation in green initiatives among visitors and residents of our area. Join in the movement and help us maintain a clean island for the enjoyment of ourselves and others.

It is imperative that we all respect the rules of the beach, so that we can continue to enjoy them for centuries to come.

Here are some rules to remember that will ensure your trip to the beach is most enjoyable:

  • No glass
  • No trash left behind
  • No pets
  • No overnight camping
  • No tents or structures larger than 10x10
  • Keep off the dunes
  • Respect private property

The Beach Warning Flags are there for the protection of you and your family. Please respect the flags and and understand their meaning while spending time on our beautiful beaches.
